Work Week "Diet" Food:

Being a high school administrator is not always as glamorous as it seems. Much of our days are filled with stressful, sometimes negative situations. And if you’ve ever worked in a school, you are aware of the amazing availability of not-so-healthy food items all the time.
Over the last decade I have, consequently, struggled mightily with my weight. Sure, I’ve dieted off and on, but never with any real success.
That changed this Spring. I have been friends with Jeremy for twenty years, and when he told me about the Work Week Diet he and Kris were developing, I knew I had to give it a shot.
(Long ago, he and I had been workout partners and Jeremy had guided me to the best shape of my life. I figured despite the fact that I was older, Jeremy definitely still knew his stuff... and nothing I was doing was working, so why not go for it?!)
Not to mention, he promised I could still eat tacos and nachos!
One tradition at my school is the annual Biggest Loser competition that always follows the Christmas break.
Organized by our school nurse, the goal is to help everyone with their New Year’s Resolutions to try and foster in a new emphasis on healthy living.
I have never participated. I always saw it much like the lottery… simply giving the entrance money away for free!
But this year, I thought, why not? If the Work Week Diet actually works, maybe I have a chance!
On the day of the weigh in, I was shocked at how much I actually weighed: 276.4 lbs!
(Ouch! No wonder I was always tired!)
With the Work Week Diet, I settled into a really easy routine. I shared my diet with others, mostly because after the very first week, people started asking me what I was doing. The success I started experiencing right away was intoxicating!
Our competition lasted eight weeks. I never once lost less than 2 lbs. each week and led the competition from day one!
I ended the eight week period down 15% and weighed out at 234.4 lbs! I lost 42 pounds!
My colleagues could not believe my success….especially since they often saw me eating the same things I always did… just not every day!
Though I could eat whatever I wanted, I found myself concentrating on more healthy choices, and I never had the urge to overeat. The Work Week Diet became an easy lifestyle.
In addition to losing 42 pounds, I started feeling so much more energetic. I was sleeping so much better during the night and I no longer had the doldrums every afternoon. I started working out again, even finding myself able to get up early and workout before work.
Most significantly, my blood pressure, for which I take medication, dropped to a point that my non-medicated levels matched what they had been when I was taking two separate medications!
And, finally, I won the Biggest Loser contest! That $400 prize went straight into my vacation fund for this summer!
